It's all about LOVE.

When I was about 4 years old, right after our family moved to Oregon, my parents took me to family camp with our new church. After being at the campground for a very short time, I found a caterpillar. I was THRILLED!!! I really thought it was the coolest thing in the world. And I thought everyone else should share in my joy. So I began walking around the campground showing the people in our church. Pretty soon I had left the area where our church was and I was showing complete strangers. Several hours later my terrified parents found me in the ranger station. I had no idea that I was lost or that anything was wrong. I was just talking to people and sharing life with them. Even at 4 years old.

I love people.
I love talking to people, hearing their stories, sharing life with them and loving them.
From the time I was young my dad told me that only two things really mattered in life... loving God and loving people. I've tried to live my life in that way.

I really enjoy taking pictures. My mom says it is the happiest she sees me. I think she's probably right. I like seeing people's reactions when they see their photos for the first time and their memories and preserved. I think that my photos show my love for people... and in turn, their love for life and for each other. But like everything I do in my life, I want to make a difference. I want to use the talents and gifts that God has given me to help people, to bring awareness and to change the world, one life at a time.

Today I met my good friend Bianca for lunch (and by the way she just launched a new website and you should check it out HERE). We had a wonderful conversation that was dominated primarily by a really cool project that we're working on. I know that even if it's a small start, it is going to make a difference. I am so glad for her friendship and her willingness to help me and my crazy ideas. As she said... I am a dreamer... a visionary... I tend to think in big crazy ideas... Bianca is a brilliant, talented "put it into action and make it happen" girl. So I'm totally excited about the future of this project.

You'll be hearing and seeing more of this crazy dream on my blog, but for now, I want to leave you with this music video. It is Brandon Heath's song, "Give me your eyes." I think it speaks so clearly about loving the people around us in our everyday lives.

Happy Thursday!
